356 Private H. Gaul (Gault in published casualty roll), Imperial Light Infantry, was posted missing in action at Spion Kop on 24 January 1900 and was later found to have been taken prisoner. He remained a prisoner of the Boers in Pretoria until he was released on 6 June 1900.
