Military Medal, G.V.R. (12171 Pte. H. A. Warden, 8/Leic. R.); British War and Victory Medals (12171 Pte., Leic. R.), surname spelt ‘Worden’ on these two, the first with heavy contact marks and edge bruising, fine, the others rather better (3) £300-350

Almost certainly an award for the 8th Battalion’s gallant attack on Bazentin-le-Petit on the night of 13-14 July 1916 - not a single officer was left standing and casualties amounted to 426 men.
