Frank Squires, a member of the 1st Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment, died on 24 March 1943, while a P.O.W. of the Japanese - almost certainly as a result of being forced to work on the notorious “Railway of Death”. He was 28 years of age and is buried in the Chungkai War Cemetery, Thailand.
