Frederick George Pope was appointed a Warrant Shipwright on 27 July 1943. In this capacity he served on the Indefatigable and Byrsa during the course of the war. Promoted Shipwright Lieutenant on 1 April 1949, he was serving aboard the submarine depot ship Forth at the time of the Suez Crisis. Lieutenant Pope retired in 1961.
