Three: Private J. Burry, Royal Highlanders

1914 Star, with clasp (1850 Pte., 2/R. Highrs.); British War and Victory Medals (1850 Pte., R. Highrs.) together with Memorial Plaque (James Burry) nearly extremely fine (4) £250-300

James Burry was born in Lochee, Forfarshire and enlisted at Perth. Serving in the 2nd Battalion Royal Highlanders (Black Watch) he was killed in action on 9 May 1915, at Aubers Ridge, aged 24 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on Le Touret Memorial. He was the son of David Nicoll and Jane Harris Burry of Twain Cottages, Muirhead-of-Liff, Dundee.
