Arthur Champion was born in the Parish of St. Mary de Crypt in Gloucester. A labourer by occupation, he enlisted into the Gloucestershire Regiment on 20 July 1889, aged 18 years, 9 months. Over the years he served with the regiment in India, Malta, Egypt and Ceylon, and served in South Africa from 24 August 1899 until 23 August 1900. He was discharged at his own request on 30 May 1911. Sold with copied service papers.
