William John Davis was the son of Christopher and Alice Davis of Bere Ferris, Bere Alston, Devon. Serving in the 15th Battalion Canadian Infantry (Central Ontario Regiment), he was killed in action, 3 June 1916, aged 35 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
