21st Jubilé Medical d’UMFIA, 1933, a bronze medal by Villandre for Canale, bust of Clemenceau right, reverse lamp above legend, 69mm. Extremely fine, rare; in original blue fitted case of issue (£60-80)

Georges Clemenceau (1841-1929) qualified as a doctor in May 1865; he was the founding president of honour of UMFIA, the French medical association, in 1912. This medal was given to practitioners by 14 laboratories, the names of which are stated on the inside of the lid of the case in which the medal is housed
