Chèvre Amalthée, c.1860, a uniface cast bronze plaque, apparently unsigned, Amalthean goat with three cherubs, 118 x 98mm. A decorative piece, very fine; two small piercings for suspension and with old collectors’ number ‘1357’ inked on back (£30-40)

In Greek mythology, the cherubs represent the daughters of King Melisseus
