James I (1406-1437), Groat, First Fleur-de-lis issue, Edinburgh, mm. cross pattée, tressure of seven arcs, lis on cusps, sceptre and i to left of bust, saltire to left and i to right of neck, saltires on shoulders, lis stops, chain circles, rev. three large and one small pellet in first and fourth quarters, lis in second quarter, lis and saltire in third quarter, lis and saltire stops, beaded circles, 2.41g/3h (SCBI 35, –; B –; S 5197/5195). Strictly fine but distinct, a very rare mule, neither die recorded by Burns (£350-400)
