Victoria (1837-1901), Pattern Five Pounds, 1839, by W. Wyon, in gold, young head left with fillets of six scrolls and eleven leaves, rev. the Queen, as Una, wearing coronet and robes of the Garter and holding orb in her left hand, guiding lion with her sceptre, dirige deus gressus meos around, edge decus et tutamen anno regni tertio in small letters with rosette stops within wire-edge raised rims, 39.29g/12h (WR 278; L & S 17; S 3851). A few light surface marks, otherwise practically as struck, brilliant, very rare (£15,000-18,000)
