France, Cinquantenaire des Grands Magasins du Louvre, Paris, 1905, a silver medal by A.-E. Lechevrel [the obv. after J.-B. Daniel Dupuis], robed female symbolising History inscribing the date on a tablet held by a naked boy, rev. oak wreath, legend at right, 50mm (CGMP p.173 for obv.). Extremely fine and very rare; in original maroon gilt-tooled case of issue, named (Mr Pichard, Cravates) (£70-100)

The obverse (only illustrated) is taken from Daniel-Dupuis’ medal for the Exposition Universelle, 1900
