France, Alliance Française, 1898, a silver-gilt award medal by J.-B. Daniel Dupuis, seated female figure of France instructs a group of four young children emblematic of the colonies, ship at sea in background, rev. tablet on a book, decorated with a spray of laurel, named (Mr A. Sarradin, Versailles, 1921), 68mm (PBE 308; CGMP p.172; BDM I, 665; cf. DNW 49, 892). About extremely fine, rare (£100-150)

Obverse only illustrated on the Plates. Originally engraved in 1894, but not struck by the Monnaie until 1898
