Opening of the Crystal Palace, 1854, a set of three bronze medals struck by Pinches for the Crystal Palace Co, viz. by G.G. Adams, conjoined busts of Victoria and Albert, rev. Britannia standing, surrounded by figures of Industry, Commerce and Fame, 64mm; by Pinches, female figure, lamb and helmet at her feet, rev. view of exhibition building, 64mm; by L.C. Wyon, bust of James Paxton left, rev. similar, 64mm (Allen 95; BHM 2545, 2549, 2552; E 1485-7) [3]. Practically as struck, an attractive set; contained in a red morocco bronze-hinged fitted case, lid inscribed c.p.c. in gilt (£150-200)
