Railways, Whitehaven Junction Railway Co (Incorporated 1844), a silver Free Ticket by B. Wyon, train steaming to right, archway behind, arms below, rev. crest, named (Thomas Mitchell Esq, Director), 48mm (Moyaux 33). Extremely fine and very rare (£250-300)

Obverse only illustrated. The Whitehaven Junction Railway connected Whitehaven with Workington and Maryport. It merged with the Furness Railway in 1866 which in turn was subsequently absorbed into the London & North Western Railway in July 1878
