Charles II (1660-1685), Pattern Farthing or Shilling, 1676, in pewter, unsigned, crowned national symbols in cruciform, four interlinked cs in centre, date divided by crown above English rose [as the rev. of the pattern Shilling of 1663, ESC 1067], rev. similar but undivided date in first quarter, edge plain, 7.07g/12h (BMC 490; ESC –). Die flaw in first quarter of obverse, weakly struck but very fine and without corrosion, excessively rare and possibly the finest known specimen (£1,800-2,200)
