William I (1066-1087), Penny, Warwick, Thurcil, dvrcil on paerinc, 1.26g/6h (Ebsworth, BNJ 1965, p.80; Lockett 3830, same obv. die [= Harris, SCMB 1987, pp.306-7]; BMC –; N 839; S 1250). Pierced at top, otherwise nearly very fine, exceedingly rare (£250-300)

Only two other coins of the type are believed known of this mint, the specimen formerly in the Carlyon-Britton collection (lot 1196), with which this coin shares the same dies, and the Lockett (lot 3830) and ‘Ridgemount’ (lot 69) coin
