William George Thouless attested for the Norfolk Regiment on 21 October 1914 and served with the 1/4th Battalion during the Great War at Gallipoli from 6 August 1915. Severely wounded, he was discharged due to his wounds on 22 August 1916 and was awarded Silver War Badge No. 53193.

Ernest Woods attested for the Suffolk Regiment and served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front, later transferring to the 17th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment.

Joshua Benson attested for the West Riding (Duke of Wellington’s) Regiment and served with them during the Great War on the Western Front, later transferring to first the Machine Gun Corps and secondly to the Royal Air Force.
