James Field served during the Great War with the Army Service Corps, initially on the Western Front with the Army Horse Transport Depot from 10 August 1914.

George Field was born in Isleworth, Middlesex and enlisted in Fulham, for service during the Great War into the Royal Fusiliers. He was killed in action whilst serving on the Western Front on 22 March 1918 and is buried at Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery, Souchez, France. He had previously served in the East Surrey Regiment, with regimental number 13082.
