Ten boxed sets comprising: Indian army 1bn. 21st Bengal native inf. 1815, Madras European foot artillery 1850, Madras Artillery band 1850, Madras Artillery Gun Lascars 1850, 1st. Ghurka Lt. Inf. 1880, 5th.Bn. Ghurkas 1882, 35th. Bn. Sikhs 1905, 6th. Bn. Jat Lt. Inf. 1909, 38th. Bn. Dogras Pipes & Drums 1905,
all in very good condition £80-120

Shamus Wade was originally in the 1960’s & 70’s a collector who became one of the pioneers in the production of ‘new’ antique style toy soldiers in the 1970’s & 80’s, Produced until his recent retirement, all are scarce as there were fewer collectors of these pieces then than there are now. He started by ‘filling in gaps’ left by Britians in their range of figures and expanded with his own ranges covering the Jubilee of 1897, the African Wars , India and the Colonies. He has Retired to Italy and is opening a museum of toy soldiers there.
