15th (York East Riding) regiment, an interesting parchment certificate of discharge by purchase (£20) pertaining to 1980 Private William Berridge who had enlisted at Beverley 26 June 1878, served 103 days and left 30 September 1878, together with C de V of Berridge in full dress tunic and glengarry; ‘Pals’ Battalions a rare official copy of Army Order ‘20/General Number/31412’ issued by the War Office 7 September 1915, and entitled ‘Authority has been given for the raising of the following local Battalions of Infantry by Individuals, Committees, etc.’ all such units are then listed complete with formation sources dates of authority titles, including ‘local’ names, where raised and dates of acceptance, very good condition (3) £40-50
