King Edward VIII/Duke of Windsor Interest, a superb pair of Field Marshal’s gilt collar badges crossed batons within wreaths of oak and laurel and the Imperial crown lodged at the top, four large and four small Field Marshal’s tunic buttons gilt with gilt mount as per the collar badges, by Pitt & Co 31 Maddox St London; Coldstream Guards, an other ranks brass valise badge, four long lug fasteners one missing the others crushed, and an other ranks die-stamped gilding metal paggri badge, lugs replaced, each item is marked with an inventory letter/number code, excellent condition (12) £400-500

Note. These items are sold together with the original sale tickets (Lot 1471) from the late Duchess of Windsor’s residual sale 11-19 September 1997, together with a photostat copy of the relevant page in the catalogue. The vendor has retained four of the small size buttons.
