Model 1851 Deane Adams & Deane 54-Bore Percussion Revolver, the self cocking action with 5 shot cylinder struck with London proofmarks, blued frame engraved ‘Adams Patent No. 20,783 Y’, the top strap with retailer ‘Wilkinson London’ and breech struck with London proofmarks, detachable Tranter Patent rammer, the frame is engraved beneath the barrel ‘AL’ in script above ‘4 LD’ [Alexander Low, 4th. Light Dragoons], contained in contemporary green baize lined mahogany case with some accessories including powder flask, oil bottle, percussion caps and 54 bore Tranter bullet mould, safety catch and cylinder arbor retaining springs restored; butt cap pitted and some light pitting to barrel, otherwise good condition with much original finish remaining on frame and barrel £3000-5000

Deane Adams & Deane licenced other firms to manufacture their patent frames and the “Y” suffix 20,000 serial numbers are thought to have been used by William Tranter.
