4th (Queen’s Own) Light Dragoons, the regimental short tailed double breasted coatee of navy blue cloth with scarlet facings piping and edging, the 3” stand-up collar richly embellished with gold braid and lace, the cuffs and forearms similarly decorated, to the reverse the short tailed panel with gold bullioned ‘waterfall’, closed back gilt buttons throughout incised designs showing a crowned star with central script ‘AR’ cypher and title circle ‘IV or Queen’s Own Lt Dgs’ all by Charles (feathers) Jennens London (1 large 1 small missing), original quilted lining, some surface mothing and reasonable repairs to moth damage on the upper right arm £3000-5000
