Edward Lawlor was born in Stradbally, Queen’s County and living in Athy, Co. Kildare, enlisted at Carlow. Serving in the 2nd Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers, he was killed in action on 24 May 1915, aged 21 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
