Great War “Tribute” or similar awards (6), comprising: Dundee Masonic Lodge, attractive bronze issue, obv. a figure of St. Andrew with ‘For War Service 1914-18’ and wreath around, rev., masonic device with ‘Truth, Honour, Justice’ around, 40 mm., with integral loop and ring suspension, and upper and lower riband bars inscribed ‘Dundee No. 967’ and ‘Lodge Progress’ respectively; Corporation of Dundee, white metal issue, obv. City Arms, and inscription around to mark ‘The Victorious Conclusion of the Great War’, rev., allegorical scene and ‘Peace’, 34mm.; Corporation of Glasgow, silver issue, obv., City Arms and ‘1914-1919’ above, rev., embossed presentation inscription for services as a Special Constable and engraved to ‘J. Todd’, 26 mm., with integral loop and ring suspension and wearing bar for ‘2 Years’; Whitwell, silver issue, obv. with angel, soldier and sailor, and ‘Victory and Peace’ below, rev. engraved within wreath to ‘E. J. Jones’ and dated 1919, 31mm.; Canada: Deloraine and Winchester, identical bronze oval issues (2), obv. Canadian Infantryman and ‘Canada’ below, rev. with embossed presentation inscription and engraved, respectively, to ‘W. Forsyth’ and ‘G. Ellis’, 27mm. by 38mm. including integral suspension loop, with chain and brooch bar for wearing, one of the latter lacking part of chain; together with a Victory Medal 1914-19 (2nd Lieut. A. E. Alfred Ernest Bower, who ended the War as a Lieutenant in the Army Service Corps, died in July 1919, aged 42 years.
