Polar Medal 1904, G.VI.R., bronze, 1 clasp, Antarctic 1929-34 (Duncan Kennedy) in case of issue, extremely fine and unique with these dates £2400-2800

Duncan Kennedy was born at Greenock on 28 January 1888. He served in Discovery II as a netman during six seasons in the Antarctic, including winter voyages, during 1929-34. The award of the Polar Medal in Bronze was announced in the London Gazette of 7 October 1941. It is the only bronze medal awarded with these dates. Sold with full research including copies of various reports on the Discovery expeditions.
