A Great War M.M. to Serjeant T. A. Bruton, Worcestershire Regiment

Thomas A. Bruton was the son of Margaret Bruton of Dudley, Worcestershire and husband of Esther Bruton of Heybridge, Essex. Serving as a Serjeant with the 1/7th Worcestershire Regiment he was awarded the Military Medal (London Gazette 11 November 1916). Commissioned a Second Lieutenant with the 6th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment on 26 April 1917, he was killed in action, whilst attached to the 4th Battalion, on 1 September 1918, whilst taking part in the advance in the Lys Valley. He was buried in the Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension in Nord, France.
