Frederick Joseph Abrahams formed part of the crew of a Whitley V bomber, No. P5082, which took part in an attack on Bremen on 28 October 1940. His aircraft signalled that it had attacked the target but on its return crashed into the sea off the coast of Aberdeen. A subsequent sea-search was abandoned and all the crew were presumed dead.
