Frederic Adolphus Fynney was born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. During the Boer War he held a commission with the Natal Mounted Police. During the Great War he was commissioned into the King’s (Liverpool) Regiment before transferring to the Tank Corps. He died on 27 November 1918, aged 44 years. He was buried in Canterbury Cemetery, Kent. Entitled to the India General Service Medal 1895 with clasps for Punjab Frontier and Tirah and the Queen’s South Africa Medal with 5 clasps.
