Harold Fletcher attested for the 10th (Scottish) Battalion, Liverpool Regiment on24 June 1912 and was one of the original contingent who travelled to France aboard the S.S. Maidan in November 1914. Later posted to the 2/10th King’s Liverpool Regiment, he was promoted to Acting Corporal in August 1915 and Lance Serjeant in September that year.
