Charles Wareham was born and lived in Child Okeford, Dorset and enlisted in Blandford, Dorset. Serving as a Lance Corporal with the 1st Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 1 July 1916, the ‘First Day of the Somme’, aged 26 years. He was buried in the Blighty Valley Cemetery, Authuile Wood, Somme, France.
