Charles Stuart Merrett was born in Box Bath, Wiltshire and enlisted at Ashley, Box, Wiltshire. Serving with the North Somerset Yeomanry, he was killed in action on 16 May 1915, aged 18 years. He was interred in the Merville Communal Cemetery, France.
