Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 1 clasp, Relief of Ladysmith (196258 Ord:, H.M.S. Terrible) impressed naming; China 1900, 1 clasp, Relief of Pekin (A.B. H.M.S. Terrible) copy clasp, not entitled, nearly very fine, the first rare as a single clasp (2) £400-450

Only 23 medals issued to the R.N. or R.M. with the single clasp for Relief of Ladysmith, including 18 to the Terrible.

Able Seaman Thomas served in South Africa with the crew of Lieutenant Drummond’s 6-inch gun. He is not entitled to the clasp for Relief of Pekin.
