General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Malaya, G.VI.R. (2703951 Gdsm R. Alexander, S.G.) extremely fine £40-50

R. Alexander was born on 27 March 1927 and enlisted at Liverpool aged 17 years. With the Scots Guards he served in Malaya from December 1949 until April 1951. In the early months of 1949 he was tried by the Civil Power at Caterham and was convicted of aiding and abetting cruelty to a cat, for which he was sentenced to three months imprisonment in H.M. Prison Brixton. He was discharged from the Army in 1952 with a testimonial attesting to his competence in the cookhouse. Sold with copied service details.
