Army of India 1799-1826, 1 clasp, Ava (J. Shannon, 89th Foot) short hyphen reverse, officially impressed naming, edge bruises and some rubbing over name, otherwise about nearlyvery fine £600-700

John Shannon was born at Ballimote, county Sligo, and attested for the 89th Foot at York on 3 December 1825, aged 27 years. He served in the East Indies from 23 August 1826 until 3 May 1830, and the remainder at home. He was discharged on 11 January 1831 ‘being unfit to proceed as one of a Convict Guard to New South Wales.’ Sold with copy discharge papers.
