Military General Service 1793-1814, 3 clasps, Talavera, Fuentes D’Onor, Vittoria (John Jones, Serjeant, 16th Light Dragoons) very fine £600-800

John Jones was born in the Parish of Whitfield, in the county of Lancaster, and enlisted into the 16th Light Dragoons on 21 January 1793, aged twenty-one, a weaver by trade. He was discharged at Deal on 24 August 1814, in consequence of length of service and a reduction of two Troops in the regiment. He had served for a total of 21 years 217 days, including more than 3 years as a Corporal and one year as a Sergeant, in which rank he was discharged. Sold with copy discharge papers.
