Svt., R.N.); 1939-45 Star; Atlantic Star, clasp, France and Germany; Burma Star, clasp, Pacific; Defence and War Medals; Royal Victorian Medal, G.V.R., silver, unnamed as issued; Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., 3rd issue, coinage bust (L. 11093 P.O. Std., H.M.S. Dolphin), mounted as worn, the earlier awards with contact marks and a little polished, but generally very fine or better (9) £250-300

Clifford Leonard Minter, who was born at Colchester, Essex in January 1902, entered the Royal Navy as a Boy Servant in May 1918 and quickly went to sea in the battle cruiser Princess Royal, serving aboard her from August 1918 until June 1919. He was subsequently awarded his R.V.M. in June 1922 for services as an Officer’s Steward aboard the Renown during the Prince of Wales’ tour of India and Japan, and the L.S. & G.C. Medal while serving as a Petty Officer Steward in the submarine depot ship Dolphin in January 1935, but until such time the remainder of his service record is released, no further information is available on his subsequent career.
