(B.Z. 1598 A.B., R.N.V.R.), initials given as ‘T. W.’; 1939-45 Star; Atlantic Star; Italy Star; Defence and War Medals; Coronation 1937; Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., 3rd issue, coinage bust (L. 13043 P.O. Stwd., H.M.S. Vivid), mounted as worn, the Great War awards good fine, the remainder rather better (9) £120-150

William Thomas Cole Farrier was born at Dartmouth, Devon in March 1898 and, having served in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve from 1916 until the end of hostilities, transferred to the Royal Navy as an Officer’s Steward 3rd Class in August 1919. Advanced to Officer’s Steward 1st Class in the mid-1920s, and awarded his L.S. & G.C. in the 1930s, he witnessed active service in the 1939-45 War and was appointed a Temporary Warrant Catering Officer in February 1945. He retired in the following year.
