85th (The King’s Light Infantry) Regiment, an officer’s shoulder belt plate c1840-1855 (Parkyn 414) rectangular gilt back plate with silver overlays a crowned oval strap inscribed ‘Aucto Splendore Resurgo’ and enclosing a strung and ribboned bugle horn with ‘85’ between the strings above the bugle horn a scroll ‘the King’s Light Infty’ wreaths of palm and laurel in close surround the honour ‘Nive’ across the base of the wreaths, a tri-part scroll at base ‘Fuentes D’onor Peninsula Bladensburg’, usual fasteners to reverse, no gilt remains on back plate the orb and cross missing from the crown ,finial of the palm spray missing, heavy wear to the top scroll and Nive honour £150-200
