East Lothian Volunteer Infantry, a very fine and rare officer’s oval copper gilt shoulder belt plate 1803-1808, engraved designs of a crowned circular strap bearing the legend ‘East Lothian Vol: Infantry’ centrally ‘GR’ upon a lined background, one hook and two stud fasteners, excellent condition £600-800

Formed in September 1803 under the general heading ‘Haddington or Lothian (East) Volunteers and listed as ‘Haddington & Co Bn.’ Converted to Local Militia 1808/09 as the Haddington LM.
