A Scottish basket hilted backsword, the 30 inch single-edged blade with single narrow fuller at back edge, steel basket hilt having steel panels pierced with hearts and pellets and with scalloped and scrolled edges, the side plates supported by saltires, fluted squre section hilt bars and fluted conical pommel, spirally carved wooden grip covered with fishskin, bound with copper wire, silver ferrules, blade and grip probably associated, good condition overall £350-400
