Khadim Hussain was appointed a War Substantive Lieutenant with the 12th Frontier Force Rifles in 1941 and held the ranks of Acting Captain and Temporary Captain with the unit during 1943-44. In the Pakistan Army of 1947 he served as Temporary-Major in the 8th Punjab Regiment.
