Anthony Frederick Alston was born at Great Coggeshall, Essex and lived at Kentish Town, Middlesex. He waqs killed in action in France and Flanders on 1 July 1916, the first day of the Battle of the Somme, whilst serving with the 1st Battalion, Rifle Brigade.
