Arthur John Pearce was born in Broseley, Shropshire and living in Madeley, enlisted at Ironbridge. Serving with the 1/4th Battalion King’s Shropshire Light Infantry, he was killed in action on 19 April 1918, aged 24 years. The Wreakin District Roll of Honour states that he was ‘Killed in action at Cambrai’. He was interred at La Clytte Military Cemetery. Sold with card boxes of issue and forwarding slips.

Hubert Pearce had served with the 4th Reserve Battalion King’s Shropshire Light Infantry when he died on 6 September 1920, aged 24 years. The Wreakin District Roll of Honour states that he ‘Died of wounds (gas) at home’. He was interred at Wenlock (Broseley) Cemetery. Sold with medal forwarding slip.

The above were sons of George and Ellen Pearce of Madeley, Shropshire. Both brothers are commemorated on the Ironbridge War Memorial. Sold with photographs and copied research.
