Three: Private T. E. Timoney, Royal Dublin Fusiliers

1914-15 Star (16158 Pte., R. Dub. Fus.); British War and Victory Medals (16158 Pte., R. D. Fus.) good very fine (3) £80-100

Thomas E. Timoney lived at Sligo and enlisted at Dublin. According to Soldiers Died in The Great War he died at Gallipoli on 25 October 1915, whilst serving with the 7th Battalion, Royal Dublin Fusiliers. However, C.W.G.C. records him as buried at Alexandria (Chatby) Military and War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt. It is likely therefore that Timoney was one of the numerous men evacuated from Gallipoli to the military hospital at Chatby suffering with dysentry.
