Three: Private W. B. Allen, 10th (Scottish) Battalion, Liverpool Regiment

1914 Star (2526 Pte., 10/L’pool. R.) surname spelt ‘Allan’ on this medal; British War and Victory Medals (2526 Pte., L’pool. R.) nearly very fine or better (3) £80-100

Walter Bancroft Allen attested for the 10th (Scottish) Battalion, Liverpool Regiment on 3 June 1912 and was one of the original contingent who travelled to France aboard the S.S. Maidan in November 1914. He first served as a Signaller with ‘E’ Company, before transferring to the Machine Gun Section. He was hospitalised on 16 January 1915 and invalided back to England on 12 February following, before being discharged on 28 January 1916.
