Pair: Gunner Joseph Andrews, Royal Artillery

Crimea 1854-56, 4 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann, Sebastopol (Gunnr., Rl. Arty.) officially impressed naming, the first and third clasps contemporary copies, rivets broken and poor; New Zealand 1845-66, reverse dated ‘1861 to 1866’ (272 Gunr., C Batty. 4th Brigde. R.A.) contact marks, otherwise nearly very fine (2) £300-350

Clasps not verified. The above pair of medals are contained in a contemporary tarred and embroidered housewife together with a news cutting and a letter from one Lieutenant Grant, South Wales Borderers, dated Brecon, Jan. 7th, 1890, concerning his brother, the late Pensioner Charles Andrews, formerly a Colour-Sergeant in the South Wales Borderers. Both letter and cutting in very poor repaired condition.
