Punjab 1848-49, 1 clasp, Goojerat (Drumr., 53rd Foot) suspension repaired and no longer swivels; Indian Mutiny 1857-58, two clasps, Relief of Lucknow, Lucknow (Drumr., 53rd Regt.) slight contact marks, about very fine(2) £500-600

Peter McCartney was born in Newry, County Down, Ireland and attested for service in 1884, aged 14 years 6 months. Awarded the Sutlej Medal for Aliwal and clasp for Sobraon; Punjab Medal with clasp for Goojerat and Indian Mutiny Medal with clasps for Relief of Lucknow and Lucknow. Discharged in May 1870. Sold with copied discharge papers and other research.
