‘19 February 1861: The Cork brigantine Susan was wrecked off Ballinacourty, ten miles from Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, Ireland, during severe weather. Mr Barron, Captain Dower and four other men put off and, at considerable risk to life, saved two out the brigantine’s crew of six men.’
